Catalina Water Year Rainfall Data Updated

The “ENs” denote those winters with significant El Niñoes. The biggest of all, back in 2015-16, didn’t do much as far as SW weather goes. Generally, as you can see, they are very powerful “weather actuators” for us.
Our poor summer rains kept this from being a truly spectacular water year. Still, over 20 inches is very good.
Our bountiful September rains kept this summer from resembling one of those from the early and mid-90s.

  1. Art: I’ve missed you- I hope you continue . Our past summer up here in the PNW was pretty good- especially in one respect: Lack of smoke and smog conditions.

    1. Hi, Roland, thanks for missing me. If you read the lengthy reply to Jon Nelson, a former scientist at the U of WA where I worked, you’ll see what I’ve been up to. Was just now looking to see how bad things were on my site, how many things were missing and will try to resuscitate some.

      Hope you are well, Roland!

      1. Thanks for finally writing back, Art! Guess what- we haven’t had a single drop of rain so far this month. We’re as dry as you are! (well, at least until tonight some time)

    1. Thanks, Jon. Have been immersed in science wars, at least with BAMS over a very long time re the history of cloud seeding in Israel, its rise and fall. So, just exited blogging. Also, virtually all posts prior to last March were decimated when GoDaddy said I was taking up too much space on their server and had to remove imagery within a week. I did, but to do that, had to get a new internet provider and new e-mail address. This was such a blow I lost interest in blogging as well since I didn’t know how this load on the GoDaddy server had even happened!

Will quit here. Good to hear from you, Jon!
